Auto repair in the United States is split between independent shops, dealership service departments and national chains. Independents handle most routine work (oil changes, brakes, tune-ups, check-engine diagnostics) at lower labor rates and often specialize in one make or in imports; dealers keep factory tools, software and warranty authority; chains sell speed and standard pricing on maintenance items. Most shops charge a diagnostic fee, credited toward the repair if you go ahead, and quote parts and labor separately. Certification matters: look for ASE-certified technicians and, in many states, a state repair license posted at the counter. Written estimates are required by law in most states before work begins, and you are entitled to your old parts if you ask.

Hours are published for 5 days a week. Typical hours are 8 am–5 pm. Note that it does not open on Saturday, Sunday. Pittsburgh is in Pennsylvania, in the Northeast, where four distinct seasons shape local life: hot humid summers, snowy winters that can close businesses for a day, and a dense pattern of towns where walking, transit and street parking all matter. Getting around Pittsburgh is easiest by car; street parking is metered in busy downtown areas, and most suburban businesses have their own lot. Ride-share apps such as Uber and Lyft operate across Pennsylvania's larger cities, and public transit varies from extensive to minimal.

I rarely leave negative reviews because I respect business owners, but the extreme lack of professionalism here forced me to make an exception. I scheduled a state inspection a month in advance and took time off work to ensure my vehicle was ready for an upcoming road trip. When I arrived, the shop was closed with nothing but a note on the door. There was no text or call to give me a heads-up. To make matters worse, I had already purchased a Groupon voucher that is now non-refundable. If they had at least texted or called to let me know that plans had changed, I would have had ample time to reschedule the appointment with a different mechanic and not miss my road trip. These guys might be skilled at what they do, but their terrible communication and lack of respect for a customer's time made this one of my worst service experiences ever.

Highly recommend this shop! My car was seen in a timely manner, and the work was done extremely well. I will be telling all my friends to go here.

Lou Iezzi & Sons came through for our family when we really needed it. Our wheelchair van required complex repairs right before we had to transport my father home from stroke rehab. They diagnosed the problems quickly, expedited the work, and got us on the road in time to complete his move in a single trip. Professional, compassionate, and highly skilledβ€”we couldn’t have asked for better service during such a stressful time. So grateful. Highly recommend.

I’m extremely satisfied with the experience. The staff was professional, courteous, and very knowledgeable. They explained the service required and completed the work on time as promised. What impressed me the most was their attention to detail and transparency. They kept me informed throughout the process and made sure everything was done properly before handing the car back. The service quality was excellent, and my car feels smoother and well-maintained after the visit.
